19 - 21 February
Kiev, Ukraine
Deadline for international companies: 12.12.2018

The Exhibition

Agro Animal Show is the most important platform for animal husbandry and agricultural technology in Ukraine. At the last edition, 530 companies from 23 countries showed their complete range of state-of-the-art solutions for livestock, animal husbandry and agricultural technology to some 18,000 business professionals. Official pavilions from the Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands underlined the international character of the exhibition.

The Market

With 32.5 m ha or arable land and one-third of the worlds fertile black earth, Ukrainian agriculture has huge potential. In 2017/18, Ukraine achieved the second largest harvest. Agriculture has always been one of the major sectors of the Ukrainian economy – its share of the GDP amounts to approximately 10%, 41% of the export revenues are attributed to agriculture. After 2016 the econimic upturn continued in 2017 also with imports of harvesting equipment again rising by 29%. However, due to the shortage of state-of-the-art equipment experts estimate that 5-6 m. tons are lost annually. The insufficient equipment of the industrial plants also affects the average yields in grain, sun flowers, rapeseed, sugar beets and potatoes with re-sults way below the Western European level. Agriholdings cultivating about 6 Mio. ha (Large farms with >20.000 ha), therefore, have begun to invest heavily in cultivation, storage and processing of grains, oilseeds as well as irrigation equipment. Livestock in Ukraine has been gaining more and more importance. The poultry sector driven by exports has been rapidly developing, especially since 2013, when Ukraine started to export poultry and egg products in the EU. In 2017, the exports of poultry products again rose by 12%. Also, the dairy producers have been given new perspectives as the first permits for export to the EU and China have been granted in 2016.
