In 2015, 14,000 visitors came to the fair to meet 294 exhibitors from 11 countries. Traditionally, they meet on renowned manufacturers of agricultural machinery showing their latest state-of-the-art technology of the leading national and international manufacturers with the focus on going easy on resources.
The Market
With 63.8 m tons of grain Ukraine attained a record harvest in 2015/16 again and also the exports reached with 39,4 m tons a new record height. Agriculture has always been one of the major sectors of the Ukrainian economy – its share of the GDP amounted to 14% in 2015 and for the first time after 2013 Ukraine doubled the imports of agricultural machinery in the first half of 2016 as compared to 2015.
However, due to the shortage of state-of-the-art equipment experts estimate that 5-6 m. tons are lost annually. The insufficient equipment of the industrial plants also affects the average yields in grain, sun flowers, rapeseed, sugar beets and potatoes with results way below the Western European level. The industry is still in need of modern equipment. This is also true for seeds: Ukrainian farmers have recognized the significance of high quality seeds leading to more and more imports of seeds.
