As the largest Canadian trade fair in the industry, Canadian Dairy XPO has been taking place in Stratford, Ontario, in the heart of the dairy industry, for the last 11 years. Over 350 companies from 35 countries present their innovative technology and technology to over 17,000 visitors.
The Stratford area is home to the highest concentration of dairy farms in the country – most of the industry’s customers come from this region.

The Market
Canada has the most stable milk prices in the world and Canadian dairy farmers are at the forefront of adopting innovation. In 2023, Canada produced about 95 million hectoliters of milk, with the majority produced in Quebec and Ontario. These two provinces account for over 70% of the country’s total milk production.
In 2023, there were 10,951 dairy farms in Canada, and the number of dairy cows was approximately 970,000. Dairy revenue is expected to continue to grow, driven by domestic consumption and export demand. The market size of the dairy industry will witness growth in the next five years. The industry is adopting new technologies in dairy farming and processing to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The law ratifying the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) came into force on January 20, 2023, opening up additional opportunities for German business in Canada.
