Project Manager (m/f/d) – International Trade Fairs

__________________________________________________

We are looking for a Project Manager (m/f/d) for International Trade Fairs as soon as possible.

We are a subsidiary of the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft e.V.), a leading agricultural industry association, and have been organizing trade fairs outside the EU for over three decades. Additionally, we coordinate participations of primarily German and European ministries and associations in international trade fairs focused on the agricultural and food industries, as well as airport equipment manufacturers.

We support our clients in their trade fair presence in new and often challenging markets – from selecting the right trade fair and planning their participation to on-site execution. Our customers vary greatly, from startups and SMEs to large corporations.

We offer a dynamic, diverse, and exciting work environment in a small international team of ten colleagues from six different nations. If you enjoy direct customer interaction, seek challenges in an international business setting, and are open to frequent travel, we would love to hear from you!

Your responsibilities:

Independent planning, organization, and execution of international trade fair participations:

  • You will plan, coordinate, and implement entire trade fair projects and group participations, ensuring an overview of all project steps, managing service providers, preparing tenders, and maintaining ongoing communication with ministries, authorities, partners, and associations. In short – you will be the key point of contact for all stakeholders.
  • You will be responsible for budgeting and ensuring project goals are met, working closely with senior management.
  • You will manage sales efforts domestically and internationally, create marketing materials for your projects, and handle the acquisition of new and existing clients.
  • You will identify potential new clients and proactively approach them.
  • You will support our international and national exhibitors from registration and booth planning to on-site assistance, offering professional and reliable guidance throughout the process.
  • Even when handling multiple projects simultaneously, you will remain organized, motivated, and maintain a positive attitude.

Your profile:

  • A degree in marketing, business administration, event management, or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience in event management (Bachelor’s degree or higher).
  • Strong project management skills, analytical and conceptual thinking, excellent organizational abilities, and a quick grasp of new tasks.
  • Experience in sales and ideally in the trade fair industry.
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with clients, partners, and service providers from both political and business sectors.
  • A passion for independent and meticulous work with a high level of commitment.
  • Fluent German and English skills are required; additional languages are always a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Enthusiasm for networking and working with partners and clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • A proactive approach and a preference for teamwork.

What we offer:

  • Fair salary and flexible working hours.
  • Friendly work environment: Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies, and an open-door policy to encourage collaboration.
  • A high degree of autonomy and responsibility in your projects.
  • Up to 30% home office after the probation period.
  • A quiet office in Heidelberg’s beautiful old town, surrounded by cafés and shops, with excellent public transport connections.
  • Exciting international business travel opportunities.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • We work hard but also celebrate together – at our annual summer and winter company events.
  • Opportunities to participate in workshops and training sessions from our parent company, DLG, to develop your professional and personal skills.
  • Free coffee and tea.
  • Bike leasing option.

If this role sounds like a great fit for you and you’d like to contribute your expertise to our company, we look forward to receiving your application.
