AGRITECHNICA ASIA/HortEx 2026

Agriculture, Animal husbandry, Horticulture
20 - 22 Mai
Bangkok, Thailand

The Exhibition

AGRITECHNICA ASIA is part of the portfolio of the DLG world-leading trade fair for agricultural technology, AGRITECHNICA, in Hanover. Founded in Bangkok in 2017, the fair serves the growing Asian market. The next AGRITECHNICA ASIA will take place from May 20 to 22, 2026, in Bangkok, and then the fair will alternate every year under the name AGRITECHNICA ASIA / HortEx between Thailand and Vietnam.

Since 2022, HortEx has been associated with DLG and is one of the leading trade fairs in Southeast Asia for horticulture and floristry. HortEx is organized by the local company VEAS (Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co, Ltd.) and Nova Exhibitions BV from the Netherlands, the undisputed innovation leader in horticulture and floristry. The merger of both fairs creates synergies, especially in the areas of technology and plant cultivation, providing visitors with a compact overview of available technologies and innovations.

With the participation of important industry leaders such as John Deere, AGCO, CNH, Mahindra, CLAAS, Fliegl, and Maschio Gaspardo, AGRITECHNICA ASIA has established its position as the leading event in the region. The 2024 edition recorded a record number of exhibitors and visitors: 353 exhibitors and over 12,000 visitors from Asian countries.

The exhibition is strongly supported by the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, which is the official co-host of the event.

The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture supports German manufacturers and their subsidiaries again with a German pavilion.

The Market

The agricultural mechanization market in Southeast Asia, projected with a compounded annual growth rate of 7.2% is valued at USD 13.1 billion in 2028. Key crops driving the demand for mechanization include rice, sugarcane, cassava, and maize, with significant production share in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Southeast Asia’s agricultural mechanization market shows promising growth prospects driven by evolving consumer preferences, government investments, and technological advancements to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.

Crop establishment, planting, and irrigation equipment dominate the market, accounting for 30% of the region’s agriculture equipment market in the past few cropping seasons. Notable government investments, such as the Philippines’ billions-dollar investment in infrastructure development, have spurred the adoption of technologies like automation and remote sensing to boost crop yields.

Post-pandemic, increased demand for organic and healthy food has driven the need for fertile land and demand for cultivators in the agricultural tractor market. Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam – the region’s leading rice and maize producers – have seen increased demand for seedling plants and irrigation equipment due to government investments in technological advancements for rice production.

Labor shortages in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand drove the demand for seed drillers. Simultaneously, government initiatives like automation and crop insurance are driving the growth in the Ag machinery market. The focus on automation in response to labor shortages has also increased the demand for power weeders compared to mechanical weeders in the region.
