The Market
Agriculture is a key economic sector in Turkey, expected to contribute approximately €58.21 billion to the country’s gross value added in 2025. The main agricultural products include wheat, barley, cotton, olives, tomatoes, grapes, and citrus fruits. Turkey is particularly strong in fruit and vegetable cultivation and ranks among the world’s leading exporters of hazelnuts, figs, and apricots. The export value of agricultural products is estimated to reach €7.5 billion in 2025.
The sector is growing at an average annual rate of 2.27% and shows increasing interest in sustainable farming practices. The government actively promotes investment in modern technologies and irrigation systems to boost productivity. Overall, agriculture remains a strategic sector for food security, export growth, and rural development.
