International Agricultural Fair Novi Sad 2026
Agriculture, Animal husbandryThe Exhibition
The International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad is one of the most important agricultural trade fairs in Southeast Europe and an excellent platform for companies active in the agricultural sector or looking to enter new markets. It takes place annually at the modern Novi Sad Fair exhibition center and attracts professional visitors, exhibitors, and decision-makers from around the world. With its long tradition dating back to 1931 and its international focus, it is among the largest agricultural fairs in the region.
The fair covers a wide range of topics—from agricultural machinery, seeds, and crop protection to livestock breeding and animal feed, as well as digitalization and precision farming. Other areas include packaging solutions, renewable energy in agriculture, and food processing. Highlights include the national livestock exhibition featuring over 800 animals, the EU Pavilion with information on funding programs and sustainability standards, and a diverse supporting program with competitions and cultural events.
The International Agricultural Fair offers ideal conditions for networking and international business development. It combines tradition and innovation and actively promotes cooperation between companies, science, and politics. Thanks to its strong position in the region and the growing importance of Serbia’s agricultural sector, the fair opens up long-term opportunities for foreign companies seeking to access the Southeast European market.
The Market
Agriculture is an important sector of the Serbian economy, even though its share of GDP has declined in recent years. The sector currently accounts for around 3–4% of economic output, with an estimated agricultural GDP of approximately 94 billion RSD in 2026. Serbian agriculture is traditionally strong in crop production, particularly wheat, corn, sunflower, soybeans, and fruits such as apples, plums, and raspberries. Serbia is among the world’s leading exporters of raspberries and is a key supplier to EU markets. Meat and dairy products also play a significant role, although livestock production has recently come under pressure.
The export value of agricultural products amounts to several billion euros, with the EU as the most important trading partner. However, the industry faces challenges: droughts, outdated technology, and low investment have led to production declines in recent years. To reverse this trend, the government is promoting programs for modern technologies, irrigation systems, and sustainable farming practices. International investors will find opportunities here, as Serbia actively supports the expansion of agricultural infrastructure and the digitalization of farming.
Despite current difficulties, agriculture remains a strategic sector for Serbia—both for food security and exports. With investments in innovation and efficiency improvements, the market offers long-term potential for foreign companies seeking to meet the growing demand for modern agricultural technology and expertise.
