EuroTier Middle East 2021
Animal husbandryThe Exhibition
EuroTier is the world’s leading trade fair brand for animal production and caters to all species in animal farming along every step of the value chain.
In keeping with DLG’s mission to create a global platform that enables the industry to access key regions directly, gain insights into the markets and to make the EuroTier brand truly international, EuroTier is as well established in the Middle Eastern region. After a successful launch of EuroTier Middle East in 2019 the trade fair comes back to Abu Dhabi from March 08 – 10, 2021.
EuroTier Middle East is the only trade fair in the UAE specialized 100 % in animal farming. EuroTier Middle East covers the whole portfolio for all locally relevant animal species. The show offers a comprehensive technical program consisting of presentations and workshops and the biggest indoor animal show for cattle and with a larger focus on sheep and goats.
In 2019 over 3 days, 6,500 sheep and goats have been assessed and awarded based on their breeding and genetics. In addition, EuroTier Middle East hosts Key-Buyers of the GCC region to facilitate a long-lasting success at the event for participating companies.
The Market
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The city is home to the majority of the population of the UAE. The Emirate is the wealthiest of all the Arab emirates and is characterized by the third largest per capita income in the world (status: 2018). Even though it possesses sufficient oil reserves, the Emirate soon started to engage in alternative and sustainable economic activities.
After the UAE was founded in 1971, areas of desert were reclaimed nationwide and converted into agricultural land. Dates are the key agricultural product.
In the field of animal husbandry the traditional sector of fishing still plays an important role. Besides this, in the oasis city al-Ain and other areas with sufficient groundwater, animal husbandry is pursued as well as crop production. In the recent past, major investments have been made in the poultry and camel production segments. As the UAE are still characterized by small-scale agriculture units the local government has recognized the necessity of providing them access to the latest technologies
