Agritec Africa is one of the well renowned agriculture exhibition in Kenya, in-fact in whole east Africa region.

Agritec Africa is an ideal exhibition platform one can get to increase networking and contacts in Agriculture, Livestock, Dairy and Grain industry. Visitors from neighboring countries attend the show and carry out detailed business engagements. Industry experts discuss progressive farming techniques and technology related therewith-in conferences and workshops.

VDMA Agricultural Machinery and IFW-Expo are organizing a three-day fact-finding trip to the important agricultural regions of Rift Valley and Central Kenya with the support of AHK East Africa. In addition to arable farming and indoor farming, the focus of the company visits will be on modern forms of machinery use such as contracting and machinery rental, e.g. Hello Tractor and Tinga.

Here is another event note: Together with the trade fair organizer Radeecal Communications, VDMA Agricultural Machinery and IFW-Expo are organizing a B2B meeting with the larger agricultural companies and machinery dealers on June 15, probably at the trade fair center. The detailed agenda follows. Participation in the fact-finding trip and in the B2B meeting is also possible independently of participation in the trade fair.

The Market

Kenya’s agriculture sector directly influences overall economic performance through its contribution to GDP. Periods of high economic growth rates have been synonymous with increased agricultural growth. Several untapped crops cultivation in Kenya affect African Economy – Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Horticulture, Floriculture, Cotton, Macadamia Nuts, etc.

Kenya is a leading producer of tea and coffee, as well as third leading exporter of fresh produce, such as cabbage, onions and mangoes. Small farms grow most of the corn and also produce potatoes, beans and peas.

Kenya Vision 2030 was launched in 2008 as Kenya’s development blueprint covering the period 2008 to 2030. It was aimed at making Kenya a newly industrializing, industrializing,“middle income country providing highquality life for all its citizens by the year 2030″.

Government will also focus on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals ( adopted by world leaders in 2015 to embody a roadmap that is sustainable and leaves no one behinds.
