The Exhibition

The outdoor event Expoagro will take place from March 10 to 13, 2026, in San Nicolás, located 225 km from Buenos Aires. Expoagro is considered one of the most prominent platforms in South America for agricultural machinery, equipment, and livestock. In addition to live demonstrations of agricultural machinery, the more than 220,000 visitors can also gather information on plant breeding and seeds at various experimental fields. This year, over 700 exhibitors participated in the event.

Once again, an official German Pavilion will be organized on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and Auma at Expoagro. German companies and their Argentine subsidiaries benefit from the joint exhibition through:

  • Favorable conditions compared to direct participation
  • High visibility and attention for the German joint booth at the fair
  • Attractive booth construction and presentation under the “made in Germany” brand
  • Use of a lounge for customer meetings, including catering
  • Digital marketing via www.german-pavilion.com
  • Organizational support from us (IFWexpo) before and during the fairOnline registration will be possible from autumn 2025!

The Market

Argentina is among the world’s top ten agricultural producers and ranks among the top three exporters of soybeans, vegetable oil, corn, and beef. With around 155 million hectares of agricultural land and a fertile climate, the country offers ideal conditions for crop cultivation and livestock farming.

Agriculture is not only the most important economic sector in the country but also a major employer: around one-third of all jobs are directly or indirectly linked to this sector. Agriculture contributes approximately 6.4% to the gross domestic product and remains a stable driver of growth. In the first quarter of 2025, the agricultural GDP rose to 40.75 billion Argentine pesos, marking a significant increase compared to the previous quarter. Particularly noteworthy is the development of the grain harvest: for the 2024/25 season, a volume of 136.3 million tons is expected – a 70% increase compared to the previous year, highlighting the sector’s high adaptability and productivity.

In addition to the cultivation of grains and oilseeds, cattle farming plays a defining role in Argentine agriculture. The image of endless pampas with free-roaming cattle and horses is closely tied to the national identity. With around 53 million cattle and an average per capita consumption of about 50 kilograms of beef per year, the famous Argentine asado is an integral part of the country’s food culture. At the same time, beef is a significant economic factor: Argentina is one of the leading exporting nations worldwide and makes a substantial contribution to the global meat supply.

The agricultural and food industry accounts for about two-thirds of total exports. Major buyers include the EU (e.g., soybean oil/meal), China (beef), Chile (wheat), and the Middle East (mutton). Agricultural exports recently amounted to around 54.9 billion US dollars per year.

Argentina is increasingly relying on modern technologies such as digital control systems, satellite monitoring, and fully automated machinery. These innovations enable resource-efficient farming and help address the challenges of climate change. Since 2021, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture has supported the German-Argentine expert dialogue to jointly develop solutions for climate- and environmentally friendly agriculture.
