The Exhibition

FutureAg Expo powered by AGRITECHNICA is a dynamic new trade fair designed for suppliers of agricultural and agro-industrial products, services, and technologies targeting the markets of Australia, New Zealand, and the broader Asia-Pacific region. The event brings together manufacturers, producers, importers, and distributors from across the agricultural, aquaculture, horticulture, and livestock sectors.
As a comprehensive B2B exhibition and conference, FutureAg Expo covers the entire agricultural value chain—from primary production and smart farming solutions to processing, industrialization, and market access.
The event aims to inspire industry professionals to present their innovations on an international stage. It offers a unique opportunity to showcase cutting-edge products and services, including smart farming equipment, Industry 4.0 technologies, agricultural inputs, post-harvest handling, logistics, and specialized solutions for wholesale and export markets.
FutureAg Expo is more than just a trade show—it is a platform for knowledge exchange, business development, and sustainable growth in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries across the Asia-Pacific.

The Market

Agriculture remains a key pillar of the Australian economy. In 2023–24, it contributed approximately AUD 71.5 billion to exports and accounted for 2.4% of the country’s gross value added. Around 55% of Australia’s land area (426 million hectares) is used for agricultural purposes, and the sector consumes 74% of the nation’s total water usage.

Australia is renowned for its diverse production: major crops include wheat, barley, canola, and sugarcane, alongside a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Livestock farming—particularly beef, sheep, poultry, and dairy—also plays a significant role. Key agricultural regions include the Murray-Darling Basin, the Wheat Belt, and coastal areas with more reliable water access.

Despite facing challenges such as climate variability, water scarcity, and global market fluctuations, the sector has proven resilient. Roughly 70% of agricultural output is exported, underscoring its global relevance. Sustainable practices are widespread: 85% of cropping farms retain stubble, 68% reduce tillage, and 65% optimize fertilizer and pesticide use. In livestock farming, rotational grazing and ground cover management are common strategies.

With over 315,000 jobs, agriculture is a vital source of employment in rural areas. Although the number of farms is declining, specialization and productivity are on the rise.

Australia is heavily investing in technological advancements such as precision agriculture, digital monitoring systems, and low-emission production methods. These innovations not only enhance competitiveness but also strengthen the sector’s environmental sustainability.
