The Market
The fact is, the Russian offensive war has caused a lot of damage so far, but it hasn’t halted Ukrainian agriculture. Ukraine remains one of the world’s leading exporters of grain, oilseeds, and vegetable oil. Ukrainian agricultural and processing companies continue to invest in machinery, technologies, and supplies. In 2022 and 2023, Ukraine imported agricultural machinery from Germany alone worth more than 250 million euros each year, exactly the same amount as in 2019 and 2020. Furthermore, the “EU Action Plan” for Ukraine will focus on Ukrainian agriculture and support investments in machinery, storage, logistics, and decentralized production of alternative energies as early as 2024.
We are aware that traveling to Ukraine has become challenging. However, it is possible, and in recent months, many companies have visited their Ukrainian clients. Apart from the actual front lines and major cities near the Moscow border, the risks appear manageable. The reputable German insurance company Allianz even offers affordable insurance coverage for business trips to Ukraine.
