OPORMEX Intercontinental Congress of Pork Producers 2026

Animal husbandry
May 12–16
Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Mexiсo
Deadline for international companies: 23.01.2026

The Exhibition

The international OPORMEX Congress is the most important meeting point for the Mexican pig industry. In addition to technical presentations and panel discussions, German companies are given the opportunity to present their products and services to a specialized Mexican audience.

Germany will be the official Guest Country of OPORMEX 2026. In cooperation with IFWexpo Heidelberg GmbH, the DLG (German Agricultural Society) offers German companies the opportunity to participate with high-quality stand construction and excellent positioning within a joint German pavilion.

The event brings together producers, industry professionals, authorities, and sector leaders to promote strategic partnerships and advance joint actions in key areas such as public policy and regulation, animal health and productivity, pork positioning, sustainability and animal welfare, value chain integration, member engagement, and industry knowledge.

The congress will take place at the Hotel Vidanta in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit—an outstanding destination combining comfort, luxury, and all amenities for an unforgettable experience.

The Market

The Mexican pork market is growing steadily and is one of the most significant segments of the meat industry in Latin America. With an annual production of over 1.4 million tons and a projected increase in per capita consumption from the current 9.4 kg to approximately 15.7 kg by 2033, the market offers substantial potential.

Around 48% of domestic consumption is covered by imports, with the United States dominating at a share of approximately 85%. At the same time, export demand—particularly from Asia—is increasing, opening up new opportunities for Mexican producers.

According to GTAI, Mexico is Germany’s most important trading partner in Latin America and, thanks to the USMCA free trade agreement with the United States and Canada, also represents a significant production location for German companies.
